Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actress. She made her film debut as the Bond actress on the set of A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she appeared as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan donnevan starred in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987. Charlotte was in Taffin (in 1998) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody was asked by a photographer to model and started to model. She then developed a career of commercial modelling. Doody stringently avoided glamour and nude work a clause which was extended to her acting career. She accepted a small role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after she was noticed by the director of casting. Doody was named as one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Volume. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the role Doody was - and remains - the youngest Bond girl that has ever appeared. A different early film played a tiny part in the film in the role of IRA Siobhan Doovan, a member of the IRA in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she featured Mickey Rourke. Doody was a silent actress in a 1987 adaptation from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading character in the film Sapsorrow as well as John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she played with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors that have played James Bond. Doody costarred with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Following her move to Hollywood, Doody became famous. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she was later chosen to appear alongside Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. Doody's first appearance on the big screen took place in 2003 when Michael Caine played Doody in an uncredited role. In 2004, Doody appeared in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody was in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), an essay on the Holocaust. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). The following year, she had been scheduled set to take on the role of lead in The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. In 2011 she began the first season of two on the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The film was awarded the Almeria film award on the 21st of November, 2018.
